We understand that not all columns can be printed due to limited space. To make up for the lost story here are some of the high-lights from those 2 weeks. January 6th a group of residents gathered together to recount all of the events that happened over 1986. . January 13th, 20 residents had the honour of visiting the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Easton of Seagrave. They all enjoyéd the love ly lunch that was served to them. A lot of the residents particularly en- Joyed the warm homey atmosphere that surrounded them. During the evening on January 15th the Oddfellow's Lodge came to entertain us and play host to our monthly birthday party. Belated birthday wishes are going out to Mrs. Agnes McLennon (Jan. 20), Mrs. Eileen Davidson (24), and Mr. Lionel Blaikie (30). We would also like to welcome Mrs. Agnes McLennon to the 3rd floor. Now we will head into our schedule of the activities that have taken place in the weeks of January 19 to 30th. } Monday, January 19th was Movie Day. We. all enjoyed watching a 2-part movie on the great 'Mother Theresa." All of the residents prais- ed this fine woman for all of her "devoted work. After the movie we held a quiz on information we ob- tained from the movie. In the even- ing a Coffee Hour was held. An exciting game of Darts was held on Tuesday. Everyone had a great time and a lot of people receiv- ed high points. Tuesday night Church Service was taken by Green- bank United. Wednesday we used our imagina- tion and went off on a trip to beautiful sunny Florida. This day was designated Florida Day. To start off the day we did exercises to Tropical music and then proceeded into a movie 'about the Florida Everglades. In the afternoon Mrs. Joan Aldred came in and took us on a tour of Florida by showing us some of her Florida slides. A'quiz was given afterwards. We all dress- ed up in our summer clothing for the day and were judged for the best costumes. The winners were Male: Mr. Hugh Santer, Female: Mrs. Minnie Harper and Staff: Mrs. Goss. After the judging we all in- dulged in some delicious ice cream sundaes. Also throughout the day our meals were prepared to suit our tropical diet. We all certainly en- joyed our trip to Florida and would like to return again sometime. In the evening the Garden Club arranged a meeting in the Gamesroom. "Thursday was a work day with a craft session. Kerrio Minister Minister Highlights from nursing home Friday the 23rd, Bingo was held. Congratulations to all of the winners. On Sunday we had the honour of the Salvation Army coming in to visit and entertain us. What a nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon. We rested over the weekend and started off with Bowling on Monday, January 26th. Top scorer was Becky Gray with 101 pts. Congratulations!' At 7 p.m. a Pub Night was held. A Band called ' "The Oddbunch' came in to provide music for us. Several of 'the residents were up dancing. Punch, Beer, pretzels & chips were served to our hearty party goers. Tuesday, a Wheel of Fortune game was in full swing. We had a lot of top winners. Wednesday a Current Events Discussion gorup was held. We had 21 residents looking through recent newspapers and got into some good debates on some of the recent local issues. In the evening the Church ~ Service was taken by the Baptist Church. - Thursday another craft day was held. They have been busy working BURNET -- on Valentine party favours. In the evening Phyllis Lambert organized a Bible Study. On the last day of the week-- Friday---a baking session was going on with the ladies preparing pies for supper hour. The Supper Club got together and ordered in Chinese Food. This was a delicious way to end the week. A lot of the men are in their glory this week as Mr. Fred Balling has graciously offered to assist the men with woodworking activities. Birthday greetings are extended to wk Bill Mgroz (Feb. 1), Miss Nita Mc (1), Mrs. Evelyn Flieler (6), Miss Joan Tuck (9), Mrs. Isabel Wright (11), Mrs. Ada Pearson (14). ZWIRNER The parents of Natalie Anne Zwirner and Gordon Jeffery Burnet are pleased to announce their mar- riage. The ceremony took place Saturday, December 20, 1986 at Pioneer Baptist Church, Norland, Ontario. Paster Don Payne officiated.
