Pearce Auctioneers continued their play-off series against Port Hope _ but were defeated in a close game 3-2. Port Hope opened the scoring 1 minute into the game. Less than 20 seconds later Port's Jay Tredway answered back with a beautiful unassisted goal. Two minutes later Port Hope took a very short lived lead as wingman Tommy Chambers tucked in the tying goal assisted by Gavin Carnegie. The game remain- ed tied until the end of the 3rd period when Port Hope scored the winning goal ending the game 3-2. Friday night saw a different kind of game as Port Perry played a more aggressive game out-scoring Port Hope 5-2. Atom feam ® wins B In their second game, Scugog Lumber faced a very strong Sutton Auto team and were beaten by a . .score of 7-1. Steven MacDonald got the lone goal for Scugog Lumber with Kevin McGriskin and Karen Kett picking up the assists. In their final game for the "B" 'Championship, Scugog Lumber played the home team from Sunderland. Up to the last minutes of the game, it was a very close and ex- citing game, when Scugog finally . broke loose and scored three unanswered goals to win by a score of 6-3. Scoring for Scugog were Kevin Pearce with four goals while An- drew Jones and Steven Stiles each picked up one. Assists were award- ed to Steven Stiles with three, Sean Ball with two and Toby Shewan, Steven Kyte, Kevin Pearce, Andrew Jones and Dale Bradbury with one each. As well, Kyle Simms played three solid games in net for his Scugog team. The Most Valuable Player Award for the "B" Cham- pionship game was awarded to Kevin Pearce. As the 3rd period unfolded Port Perry really turned on the jets as they began assulting the Port Hope goaltender. Sandy Mark put in Port's go ahead goal late in the 3rd period assisted by the hard work of defenceman Greg Thompson. Ken- ton LeFort combined with Jay Tred- way and Sandy Mark to put Port ahead 4-2. As the clock ticked down to the final munite Jeremey Geer finished off Port's scoring assisted by Craig Laird and Timmy Fitz- patrick.
