There was much laughter, as well as hard work, during the tug-o-war competition at the Cartwright High School Winter Carnival last Friday afternoon. The way the weather's been any longer, going, it's a good thing the school didn't wait or else it might have been "celebrating a Spring Carnival! The bus leaves from the Seagrave Church parking lot about 10:55 a.m. on Friday March 30 and cost per person is 50 cents. A speedy recovery is sent along to "a good friend of mine, Jim Baker of Saintfield, who is a patient in the Oshawa General Hospital following surgery last week. He is coming along well and hopes to be released sometime this week. Good luck to his wife Joyce who's job it will be to try to keep Jim in low gear long enough to let his body heal. Jim and I have one thing in common--we both only have two speeds--fast and overdrive! The Good Neighbours gals are pleased to have Mr. Dan Martin of the Scugog Memorial Chapel appear as guest speaker at their next meeting which is scheduled for Wed March 25 at 8:00 p.m. sharp.
