Scugog Community Care celebrated the opening of their new offices at 175 North Street, in the Triport Building, last Friday afternoon with many people dropping by to see the new loca- tion. The people of each community are urged to support this important -cayse. The "key' phrase for a volunteer for the Cancer Society is "to care." The fight against this dreaded disease is everbody's fight - S0 - join the crusade against Cancer - your best investment for health and happiness. : .. This past Monday, our hardwork- ing campaign chairperson Doris had a luncheon for the captains at noon - a good time to have a visit - compare notes - over a cup of tea or coffee and pick up their Kits for the 1987 campaign .A most enjoyable evening. Daffodil Day is scheduled for Fri- day, April 3rd. these lovely spring flowers will be for sale all around the Port Perry area on that date. They will cost $3 a bunch (ten daf- fodils), and Doris Taylor's home on Lilla Street will be the head- quarters. (More information later as we move closer to the annual Drive for funds). Irish Theme for Nestleton UCW The afternoon Unit of Nestleton UCW met at the farm home of Mabel Cawker on March 17th with a good attendance, and everyone wearing a "'bit of green" in honour of St. Patrick's Day. Leader Jean Williams presided and the meeting was opened by a hymn with Gwen Malcolm at the organ. After closing, a St. Patrick's lunch -was served by the hostess assisted by Jean Williams and Helen Vine. Appreciation was voiced by Helen. Get Well Our thoughts and pravers go out to Clara Nesbitt on Bowmanville. who is presently a patient in River- dale Hospital. Toronto. Clara is a former Nestleton girl and we extend a "host of good wishes" for better health soon. Nestleton Presbyterian Church Rev. Fred Swann conducted the service at 11 a.m. with Joyce Taylor presiding at the organ. Psalm 16 was read and the section on Baptism was read in unison from the ""Liv- ing Faith." Scripture was taken from Ephesians Ch. 2. The minister continued on the theme of "Living in a Christian Minority Society" and led a discussion period in which the congregation expressed their views.
