Planning Council meet The Scugog Social Planning Coun- cil was established in 1974 to facilitate Community Care struc- ture in Scugog, which would benefit those in areas of need. We are one of over 60 Council in Ontario. Our past involvement has dealt with 25 concerns including Com- munity Care Coalition housing. Handi-Transit, Family Counselling. Hostels, Home for Battered Women. Mental Health to mention only a few. Any individual or organization may join with a membership fee. A good friend and neighbour, Irma Welts visited at the farm with Sam & Mabel on Wed. afternoon. We had an interesting visit over a cup of cof fee. Trust Irma will soon feel much better. Glad to see Ralph, Diane and Jacob this past week from Toronto and Se arbor: ough area. Nestleton v nited Church On a beautiful sunny morning, a fair congregation at Nestleton United. Greeting at the door were Rev. Hughes & Danny. Rev. Dale Davis opened the service and in- troduced Elaine Barber, whe is to be commissioned this spring into the Ministry. She had served as a stu- dent minister on our charge during 1984-85. Her children's story was about 'The Diviner" seeking water. Her sermon, "The Water of Life" was challenging. Jean Williams was the Reader. Special music, 'No Tears in Heaven' was sung unaccompanied by Gloria & Jennifer Scott, Janice, Claire & Leslie MacKenzie. A delightful ad- dition to the worship service. District Board Meeting Sixteen members of Ontario South District attended the Board meeting held at the lovely home of Laurel Hamer, Brooklin. All branches within the District were represented. District President of the Womer's Institute, Mrs. Alva Thompson chaired the meeting with several items of business dealt with. "The District Annual will be held in Brooklin United Church on May 21st.
