Nestleton General U.C.W. Meeting The general meeting of the joint Nestleton UCWS was held at the church on Apr. Ist with 14 members present. The meeting was opened by president Janice MacKenzie with an Easter poem, followed by a hymn, 'The Family of God" The Devo tional led by Kay Notman, Betty Headon and Barb Weir was entitled, "Our Lenten Journey" with Scrip ture readings from Isaiah 53 and John 20: 1-18. When this inspira- tional devotional was completed. all enjoyed the Film, "Like the Trees" about a Metis woman's struggle to re-discover her roots. Special guest speaker was Leslie MacKenzie of ~Nestleton, who presented her award - winning speech entitled, Room." During the business period, various areas of business were discussed... such as the Spring Smorgasbord on May 1, U.C.W. Sun- day, June 14, and the 25 year an- niversary Banner the UCW is mak- ing. A delicious lunch provided by the evening Unit concluded a pro- ductive meeting. Caesarea ( 'ommunity Church A supportive congregation for Lent V, on Sunday morning, April 5th at 11 am. Rev. Dr. W.H. Crawford gave a thought provoking message on, 'God Has Need Of You' from Luke 19: 34, Dan Pugh "My Jr. reading the Scripture. Arden' Maschke led the responsive reading. It was a pleasure to welcome Glenn Larmer of Blackstock, who sang two Easter solos, "The Stranger of Galilee" and "1 Found The Answer." Bob Heayn presented the closing Prayer. The children's church was - hold their meeting in the Hall April 1st. at the Caesarea Centre were first -- George Mathewson with 82 Second -- Jack Poots with 80. Best Wishes for good health to Merle Heintzman of Blackstock, who has been a patient in Toronto General Hospital this past week for a few days. While she was in Toron- to, Mrs. Neta Fish, Nestleton, and Heather Munro of Sonya, kept house for her them! Sympathy goes out to the Lawson family in the passing of Fern Lawson, Nestleton who passed away in Port Perry Community Hospital over the weekend after a lengthy il- Iness. Fern will be missed by relatives and friends. Nestleton Presbyterian Church Rev. Fred Swann conducted the morning 10 a.m. service, in Nestleton Presbyterian Church, with Mrs. Dorothy McCabe presiding at the organ. An arrange- ment of daffodils decorated the sanctuary. Psalm 24 was read in unison, and also a section from "The Living Faith."" Kathleen Petrie will also give a demonstration on Exhibitional Settings & Still Life. At this meeting we will hold our Plant & Bake Sale and donations will be greatly appreciated.
