Ralph and Ruth Hilsden came to Port Perry. in the fall of 1982, and, under, their ministry the congrega- tion grew from a small circle of faithful members to the present point where the church has purchas- ed land for a new building near the Scugog Arena. ~ A skilled carpenter and cabinet maker, Pastor Hilsden has always enjoyed building even while in full time ministry; after a busy lifestyle, "retirement" will not be idle for the Hilsdens. Rev. Hilsden will be busy renovating a sumraer home at Lakeshore Pentocostal Camp, Cobourg, and Mrs. Hilsden plans to continue in hairdressing; they will also be "'on call' with the P.A.0.C., willing to help in churches with tem- porary need of a pastor or guest Speaker. They are looking forward to spen- ding time with their sons. Graydon, Claire, Laurie and Paul, and their families, and seven very spécial - grandchildren arg eager to spend more time with grandpa and " grandma. A special service will be held May 31 at the Port Perry Church, at 3:00 P.M. Everyone in the community is invited to join us. It is with gratitude and love that the congregation of Emmanuel Pentecostal Church says farewell to the Hilsdens, for they have ministered God's love in a very special way to many families in Port Perry. Rev. and Mrs. Ralph Hilsden of the Emmanuel Pentecostal Church were honoured by the congregation in a special service last Sunday. After four years in Port Perry, they will be leaving the community to "retire" near Cobourg. See story for details. First Irish Festival The First Annual Peterborough Irish Festival will take place June 20 & 21, 1987 in the Douro Communi- ty Centre.
