During the annual meeting, held on May 4th, Town Hall, 1873 elected its Board of Directors and officers. for the '87 - '88 season. The Hall committee heads read individual reports outlining the ac- complishments to date of each com- mittee. The program chairperson, Margaret VanCamp, was especial- lv commended on a successful season subscription series, culminating in the visit of Boris Brott and the Hamilton Philhar- monic Orchestra. It includes all responses received in my Ottawa office on or before April 24th. A total of 16,831 people responded. 14.307 (85.00 percent) voted in "favour of a return to Capital Punish- ment and 2,517 (14.95 percent) voted against a return to Capital Punish- ~ ment. There were just slightly more responses from women than men, 49.84 percent to 48.57 percent. The age spread of respondents was 18 to 24, 696 (4.14 percent) ; 25 to 44, 5,561 (33.04 percent) ; 45 to 60, 4,755 (28.25 percent); 6lplus, 5,504 (32.70 per- cent). Of all ; respondents, 1.97 per- cent stated no age and 1.87 percent did not state their sex. The Hall's financial position was judged comparable to last year's by' Treasurer Allan Faux: Sponsors are always welcome and all directors continue to do their part in fundrais- ~ ing, especially Publicity and Promo- tion chairman Brad Heintzman and his able team. Thanks were extended to outgoing director Barry VanCamp, and to Val Krempowich, who relinquishes secretarial duties to Vivien Lee. Les Parkes, ex-officio, but official Historian, was also thanked for his ongoing record-keeping of Hall events.
