Her, daughter Helen and Stuart Dorrell of Charlton visited her and other family for a few days. Happy birthday, Aunt Elva. On Sunday afternoon an Open House was held in the honour of Frank and Muriel Hoskin on the oc- casion of their fiftieth Wedding An- niversary. Hosting the event at the C.E. Room of the United Church was their family - Joan Graham. Pat Fletcher, Ron Hoskin and Larry Hoskin who was home from Lake Louise, Alberta for the ev ent. Con- gratulatory plaques were received from Governor-General, the Sauve, Prime Minister Mulroney, Premier Peterson and Mayor Taylor and their respective governments. During the afternoon several sisters and sisters-in-law poured tea at the beautifully decorated tea table. Many friends, neighbours and relatives from points across Ontario and into Manitoba attended this happy gathering. Following the Open House, members of the immediate family along with Frank and Muriel's brothers and sisters and their ~ spouses enjoyed a buffet supper and a social evening at their home east of Nestleton. Congratulations to Frank and Muriel. Mrs. Hazel Gay of Oshawa spent the weekend with her cousin Mrs. Wilbur Toms. Sympathy is extended to Noreen and Neil Malcolm and family on the sudden passing of Noreen's 'sister- in-law Mrs. Lillian Cook of Brooklin last week. Our thoughts are with you at this time. All members of the Ferguson family gathered at the Nestleton Hall last Sunday in honour of Ed Dunbar and his bride-to-be on the - occasion of their. up-coming wed- ding. The afternoon concluded with a delicious supper. Ed is the son of Mona (Fergusea) and George Dun- bar of Scarborough. Members of the U.C.W. enjoyed a bus trip to Toronto where they visited a bone china factory where they enjoyed seeing the many steps from bone to beautiful china. A stop ata shopping mall was also enjoyed. The return home was delayed by a flat tire on 401 - not a pleasant ex- perience but all arrived home safe- ly later than expected. Neil and Noreen Malcolm attend- ed the wedding of Annette Weaver daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Weaver at Belleville on Saturday. Many will remember when the Weaver family lived 'here when John was an employee of Malmont Farms. There were 10 tables of cards at - the weekly euchre party on Tuesday evening with the following winners 1. Dorothy Edwards, 2. Bernice Wells, 3. Mildred Thompson, 4. Ner- ta Masters, 5.
