Canoe the Nonquon an annual event Paddlers prepare for a big Canoe the Nonguon on June 6, is an annual event with all proceeds being donated to the Scugog Shores Historical Museum. Although this is the 19th annual Canoe the Nonquon, some considerable changes have been made. The major change is the length of the course. The course has been shortened to 16 miles, instead of the original 20 mile course. Therefore the start, for most classes, will be the bridge at the 10th concession. Paddlers, from years before, would recognize this point as the first bridge they would go under, after starting at the 8th concession. Please continue reading as many other interesting points about this race will be discussed. Soccer report Both Port Perry Mosquito soccer teams started the season battling each other. Tony Systma started the game off with a goal. Neil Meuller and Jerry Blackburn also scored for the tram. Halfbacks, Mike Sluggett, Jennifer Hunter and Mark Cosway showed forth a good effort. Forward also showed good effort. Huhn Heating's goal was scored by Aaron Royle. Good efforts by Megan Baxter, Ryan Williams, and Sara Brown. Bantam girls first game was a victory of 5-3 over Darlington. Goals were scored by Lisa Levy 2, Megan fuller 1, Lisa Vernon 1, and Meija Hammett 1. Great performance by Kim Lively and Meredith Fuller. To the goalie, good work, the bruises were worth it. \ Name Country Lane Realty Galley Fish & Chips Square Boy Pizza Port Perry Auto Glass A.
