For XL Eagles, Andrew Pereman shut-out Norton's batters for 3 inn- ings while Ricky Olaisen pulled off a double play while the bases were loaded. Steve Desautels pitched 3 strong innings for Norton's Home Improvements. On Wednesday, May '20, Irwin Smith outscored Brian's Towing by 13-12 in a very tight game. Kevin Pearce played well for Ir- win Smith while shutting out Brian's batters for one inning and hitting 3 for 3 at the plate. Jeremy Luke hit 2 for 3 and made a double play tc end the game for Irwin Smith. Specifications: Maximum length -16'6"" (17° if aluminum) Maximum depth - 3" at 27" (all canoes) Pre-run the course if you wish, but don't damage the beaver dams. They are important to the ecology of the Nonquon valley. Do not litter -the river!!!! - Sportsmanship: a) No portages allowed anywhere. b) Yield to an overtaking canoe. ¢) Take your turn in crossing beaver dams. d) Give your canoe number to any other par- ticipant upon request. Breaking any sportsmanship rule can result in disqualification. Shout your number to check point attendants as you pass. In recent games, Nonquon final- ly got their first win under their belts by beating Claremont by a score of 6-2. A fine pitching perfor- mance by Todd Wilbur, going the distance with 11 strikeouts Last week, Nonquon lost a tough game to Mount Albert, by the score of 10-9. After being down 7-0 after the 2nd inning, Port pulled together to come'close, but not close enough.
