Ruby Christie (second from right) was in- strumental in arranging the commissioned work of a mural by Les and Brenda, which will be en- joyed by many people, including R.N. Mary Brinkman. The painting was hung June 9. Country Chords awards - Country Chords, the ladies barbershop chorus, based in Port Perry, competed in the area V com- petition in Barrie from May 22-25. They received two awards - most improved chorus moving up in rank and most improved non qualifying chorus. They placed 6th overall and are the alternate chorus for the In- ternational competition, which takes place in Rochester N.Y. in November. Country Chords was also the host chapter for the competition which involved organizing the weekend competition and activities for all the AN j competing chorus and quartettes. Quartette competitions were held Friday evening and chorus competi- tion on Saturday. A {un evening followed competition and on Sunday they held barbershop workshops.
