Last weekend, Fred Canning & his daughter Lisa travelled down to Hamilton to be at the graduation ceremony of Ed Canning who received his B.A. at McMaster University. Congratulations Ed. The crowd was smaller than three years ago - but it was just as much fun, at the Jones' Farm on Sunday, June 21, as the people flocked in to see the untiring ing Ontario Cloggers do . their steps & a square dance team from Port Perry go through their routine & hear the delightful singing of 'Albert Harper & everyone en- joyed the strawberries. The U.C.W. thank you for coming & hope you en- joyed the strawberries & whipped cream. I bet a few people put on a pound or two. And it was a pleasure to see Sam Cureatz, Member of Pro- vincial Parliament of Durham East there. Sympathy to Lorna Grey in the passing of her sister last week. Our thoughts are with you Lorna. There were only 8 tables of euchre played on Thurs. June 18th at the Prince Albert Hall. I am told the horse races took a lot of the weekly players. Ladies high was Doris Dunlop, second was Verna Fawns & low was Fran Gibson. And the men - well with the help of a lady, it turn- ed out like this - high was Alvin Spencer, second was Ilean Pugh & low was Ed Donnelly.
