ES A gentleman from Bobcaygeon's nursing home takes a generous bite of watermelon at Port Perry's big barbecue held last week. 'And what's a barbecue without some great grilling? The hot dogs were coming fast and thick to keep more than 125 people happy at the Port Perry Nursing Home's community barbecue. Residents from other Nursing Homes such as Bobcageon, Ux- bridge, Cannington, and Newcastle helped us kick - off the start of Nur- sing Home Week. Lots of goedies were served over lunch time and then everyone joined in for an after- noon of fun and games. We were all very happy to have Louise Hartney, G. Beare and Roy-Walker Smith entertain us thru out the day. Special thank you to Audrey and Earl Geer who were-our master chefs and did a fantastic job. Special thanks to Dale Woods for building "our pie throwing stand. A good day was had by all. The residents and staff of the Nur- sing Home would like to con- gratulate Mrs. Kim Owen (nee Evans) on her recent marriage. Kim is one of our employees and is quite active in the Activity Depart- ment. Best Wishes Kim!! Monday June 8 was bowling. The top scorer was Mr. Merle Phillips with 62 pts. Congratulations Tuesday several car loads journeyed out for a "Drive in the Country." For some residents it was a drive down memory lane as they saw former homes. schools. stores, etc. Everyone certamnly enjoved the trip On the 10th was the Residents Council Meeting Opening the meeting was the new executive They are President|- Mr Merle Phillips.
