This year our sparkl- ing series is comprised of Lloyds' "International," Classic Cabaret, Mary Lou Fallis is the "Mrs. Bach Show" and our show-stopper, Jim Galloway and the Metro Stompers. Lloyds' '"'International"' Music and Marionettes for Adults hails from Ohio. Daniel Llords, solo marionettiste, bills his show as puppets-for-people-who-don't-like puppets. In fact, Daniel claims that DENIS it 1s not a puppet show at all, but a musical and theatrical experience based on elements from dance, sculpture, music, theatre and travel Accompanied by classical music, Shakespeare's 'Shrew' baudily romps about; Don Quixote and his faithful squire charge at windmills, Faust sells his soul; and L.as Vegas 1980 can-cans across the set. The showdate is Saturday, Oc- tober 17, 1987 at 8:00 p.m. Mr. Llords is also presenting a two-hour puppet workshop that day from 10:00 to 12:00 a.m. Cost for the workshop is $5.00. In this, her third ac- claimed one-woman show, Mary Low showcases the life of Bach's se- cond wife ---- Anna Magdalena Bach. In an 18th century set, as the host of "The Anna Bach Show" (pat- terned on any vulgar women's pro- gram on TV), she natters her way with gossipy pleasure about Georgie Handel, life with Johann, and nags her long-suffering accompanist Bruce Ukubata, who is in costume as Gottfried, one of Anna's 16 'children. Conrad Blomendal, cellist, presents the first half of the even- ing's entertainment. Showdate is Saturday, January 30, 1988; 8:00 p.m. at the Town Hall. Jim Galloway and the Metro ompers conclude the 12th bscription series. Galloway, regarded as the pre-eminent soprano saxist in jazz, swings into town on April 16, 1988 with his Metro Stompers. This group is composed of Ron Sorley, piano; Don Vickery, drums; Peter Sagerman, trom- bone; Kenny Dean, trumpet; and Rosemary Galloway, bass. This evening promises nothing but perfect balances between inspired solos and surging groupwork, con- sistently bold and vital jazz, and endless reserves of discipline, im- agination and energy.
