28 -- PORT PERRY STAR -- Tuesday, August 18, 1987 Wrap-up for the Squirt Boys House League (From page 27) pitched well while Mark Jansen and Peter King each stole home. Pat Beckim made 2 good catches in left field while Russell Gascoyne made a good catch to end the game. Kenton LeFort pitched well for 3 innings while Greg Thompson made - a super tag out at home plate for Taylor's Gulf. Jeff Griffen and Daryl Bourgeois went 2 for 2 at the plate and Colin Meijerink played well at 3rd. XL EAGLES 22 BRIAN"S TOWING 5 Ricky Olaisen pitched well for 2 innings and hit 2 singles and a dou- ble for XL Eagles while Scott Heasman hit a 3 run homer in the 2nd inning and played exceptional- ly well in centre field. For Brian's Towing, Kevin O'Neil, Clay Scott and Kevin McGriskin played well. NORM'S GENERAL CONTRACTING 16 CARTWRIGHT LIONESS 6 For Norm's General Contracting, Garfield LeFort hit a single, double and triple, scoring twice whil David Ivanco hit 3 singles scoring 1 run. Donnie Cliff made 2 outstanding catches at 3rd base while Jeff Ver- non pitched well for 3 innings, strik- ing out 3 batters for Cartwright Lioness. TAYLOR'S GULF 5 NORM'S GENERAL 4 This was a well pitched game for both sides with Billy Zaparanuik striking out 8 batters for Taylor's Gulf and Stewart Bruce hitting a double knocking in the tying and winning runs. lan Shrigley and Jeremy Geer combined to throw out 3 runners between 3rd and home and Matt Mantel made a great catch in left field. For Norm's General, Chad Kearns and Billy Sandiford shared the pitching allowing only 5 hits and striking out 5 batters. At the plate Chad hit a R.B.1. triple while Billy hit.a single and scored a run. IRWIN SMITH MUSIC 7 XL EAGLES 3 After being down by 2 runs, Irwin Smith Music fought back and won this first game of the tournament. For Irwin Smith, Kevin Pearce and Chad Garvock shared the pit- ching duties while Andrew Jones made a great running catch in left field and Chad caught a line drive to execute a triple play. Sean Gawley hit a 2 run double. Andrew Pereman and Gary Nor- ton pitched for XL Eagles striking out 3 and 7 batters respectively while Wade Sheedy hit a 2 run triple. NORTON'S HOME IMPROVEMENTS 26 BRIAN'S TOWING 12 For Norton's Home - Im- . provements, Steve Desautels hit 3 homeruns and Brent Harper went 4 for 4, hitting a homerun and scoring four times while Mike Mitchell and Dave Bourgeois each went 4 for 4 at "the plate and scored 4 times. For Brian's Towing, Bradley Richardson hit a 3 run homerun in the bottom of the fifth to start a ral- ly while Kevin McGriskin played well. MCTAGGART"S ELECTRIC 25 CARTWRIGHT LIONESS 12 Brad Lemieux pitched 2 good in- nings)while Ryan Ridgway made an excellent play at home plate for McTaggart's Electric. Kevin Vale, Ryan Ridgway, Russell Gascoyne and Tom Durwood each came through with a homerun. Cartwright only had seven players show up for this game but the seven that came, played really well. Dave Absent is Jody Soccer House Leagues MINI DIVISION Mini Division play continued last week with Ted E. Bears narrowly beating Port Perry Star 4-3. Scoring for Ted E. Bears were Emily Hastings with two and Jamie Byers and Jennifer Hammond with singles. In the other game, Port Perry Auto overwhelmed Gord Lewis Motors 5-1. Unfortunately, Port Perry Auto scorers were not available. Russell Brown scored the lone goal for Gord Lewis. SQUIRT DIVISION In the Squirt Division, Canadian Tire and Kinsmen put on a goal scoring show, with Canadian Tire coming out on top 6-3. Scoring for Canadian Tire were John Schewaga with three, Robbie Murphy with two and Jeff Gunn with one. Goalscorers for Kinsmen were Jason Hayworth, Shane Norton and Charlie Black. Lake Scugog Lumber won by default over North Ridge Realty, who were unable to field a team. ATOM DIVISION The Atom Division last week saw two very well played games. On Tuesday, R&S Leather got by Den- ny Metals 3-0. Scoring for R&S Leather were Sandy Mark with two and Adam Hunter with the single. On Wednesday, Prestige Hair after a sluggish start, fought back to tie R&S Leather 2-2. Sandy Mark and Aaron Lafontaine gave R&S Leather the early lead with Tommy Chambers scoring both goals for Prestige Hair in the second half to earn the tie.
