Fu | DOWN -- SLEEP ~A beautiful summer day marked the happy marriage of Patricia Anne Sleep and Jeffrey Lloyd Down on July 25, 1987. The Reverend Dale Davis officiated the ceremony at the United Church in Blackstock, the same church where Trish's parents and her great-grandparents were married, the latter in 1888. Trish wore a traditional southern bell gown of satin, splashed with lace and seed pearls on the fitted bodice, yards of ruffles on the hem and a long cathedral train. Her hat featured a blusher veil and a long back veil to match the length of her train. She carried a bouquet of fresh white roses and orchids, adorned with stephanotis and green ivy. The bride's attendants were beautiful in teal-coloured full length gowns with shirred sleeves and a large bow in the back. All five carried bouquets of white roses, stephanotis and peach carnations with touches of teal ribbon. Leanne Fisher of London, the bride's life-long friend, was maid of honour, and the bridesmaids were Catharine Cory of Picton (sister of the groom), Deb Vice of Enniskillen, Sonja McLeod of Thamesford, and Anne Ives of Mississauga, all friends of the bride. ', The groom, Jeffrey Down of Oshawa, was handsome in his morning suit of dark grey pin-striped trousers, vest and matching cravat. Jeff's ushers wore similar suits with teal cummerbunds and bow ties to match the bridesmaids' dresses. Rob Worden, long time friend of the groom was best man. Ushers were Scott, Ken and Paul Down from Oshawa, brothers of the groom and Brent Thompson from Hampton, friend of the groom. The bride's uncle, Richard Bowles from Toronto, was the master of ceremonies. Trish was given in marriage by her parents, Douglas and Patricia Sleep of Nestleton. Guests were invited to the bride's parents' home after the ceremony for refreshments and to view the gifts while wedding pictures were being taken on the lawn. ; The reception was held at the Tyrone Community Centre. The couple spen: their honeymoon in Toronto and then a cottage in the Ban- croft area. They are currently living in their new home in Courtice. Special Thanks ... Heartfelt gratitude goes out to all those who held showers for the bride and groom. A miscellaneous shower was hosted in Nestleton by Edith McLaughlin, Deb Vice and Donna Kyte. A miscellaneous shower at the Keg Restaurant in Scarborough was given by Trish's co-workers from Centennary Hospital, Scarborough. Miscellaneous showers were hosted by Mrs. Arnold Sleep, Bowmanville, aunt of the bride, for the bride's family, and by Mrs. Wesley Down, Oshawa, mother of the groom, for the groom's family. A surprise Jack and Jill dance was arranged by the best man and friends. A surprise shower was given by friends at the bride and groom's new home. While Jeff was at his stag, organized by his brothers and friends, Trish was attending a surprise personal shower held at Kelsey's Restaurant, Oshawa. | DURHAM SHADE & VERTICALS Custom Draperies, Verticals, Venetians & Roller Shades (416) 985-9985 Free Shop at Home Service ON SALE S6gee TAUNTON POOLS Early Bird Sale.
