The kids will struggle to get money and buy their way to happiness. Then they'll wonder why they wake up in the morning feeling empty, unloved and despairing, So they'll turn to their religion and buy something else only to feel good outside and even hollower inside. : They won't have a tlue how to relate to anyone else--or how to give and receive love. What love means. Or even what it is. Chaos will reign. Society will break down. We're already all coveting our "brother's goods." We're already stealing, killing and honoring the traditional Sabbath as yet another potential shopping day in designated tourist areas. All in the name of spending. We should forget about buying the kids the latest cereals and teach them how to scramble an egg. Forget the latest war toy. Teach them how to whittle a whistle. We should be spending time, not money. Random Jottings (From page 6) is a desperate need for traffic lights at that intersection. If there wasn't a need, why would the merchants of that plaza be spending approximately $25,000 this year for a policeman to stand at the intersection to direct traffic. It appears to me that the MTC just don't want to see another traffic light at that location and they will only con- cede to its need by continual pressure from our politicians. There have been several accidents at the intersection this past summer, and although no one has lost their lives 'yet), there have been a number of serious accidents. Council should continue to pressure the MTC to put a light in at the intersection now, not after a death occurs on this dangerous stretch of the highway. Yesterday's Memories (From page 5) Miss Margaret Spence, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Spence recently received a gold Buffalo Day Medallion from Mayor Baker of Regina, Sask.
