Planning council deals with the problems of poor For more and more people it is becoming impossible to provide their families with the necessities of life. On Monday, September 28, members of local clergy, service clubs and representatives of Social Services met at the regular meeting of the Social Planning Council to discuss providing assistance to those in need of food and clothing. The need is very real. For the last fifteen years Ann Wanninkhof has collected and distributed clothing to the needy from her home and the Anglican Church in Port Perry has been providing non-perishables foodstuffs on a limited basis. The time has come for the community to try to undertake some of these services.
