Jr. and Sr. Choirs combined to sing the introit, 'Thank You," and later in the service the Jr. Choir sang "Thanksgiving Praise" and Sr. Choir sang the joyous "Canticle of Thanksgiving." Pauline Howell was welcomed to the membership of Greenbank United Church and in the sacrament of infant baptism the following children were baptized: Mathew Dennis Howell, son of James & Pauline, Jordan Kyle Foote, son of Jeffrey & Kimberlee, Janie Marie Ward, daughter of Malcolm & Christine and Andrew William Roderick Harris, son of Roderick & Linda. David's sermon entitled "Hap- piness Is" helped everyone to return home with happy and thankful hearts. : Congratulations to Randy and Marion Watson on the safe arrival of a baby boy. "Joel David." The afternoon unit of the U.C.W. had a very enjoyable coffee hour at the church last week, with about thirty ladies in attendance, follow- ed by a devotional period of Thanksgiving and a very interesting account by Muriel Gibson and Helen McKean of their trip to the Yukon. Mr. and Mrs. Neil Hunter were joined for their Thanksgiving dinner by their family, Jim & Shirley and family, Pat & Paul and family, Tom & Valerie and family and Jean's Father Mr. Joe Symons. There will be no service at Green- bank Church next Sunday, October, 18, as we will join with Pinedale for their Anniversary Service at 11:00 A.M. Both Jr. & Sr. Church Choirs need more members. Jr. Choir meets after school on Wednesday after- noons and Sr. Choir at 7:30 p.m. on Thursdays -- people who enjoy sing- ing, aged 12 to 80 are welcome to attend. Scout Group Committee is in need of a leader for the Greenbank Scout Troop. Unless a leader is found, the troop will be forced to disband. If you are interested call Terry Crawford or Betty Williams. The official church board meeting is Wednesday October 21 at Seagrave Church. Sympathy is extended to Richard Downey and family in the sudden passing of his father, Mr. George Downey of Oshawa. The evening unit of the U.C.W. had a very interesting meeting last week, when they had as guest speaker lawyer Brian Davies from Port Perry. They are taking orders from the Regal catalogue. Anyone interested in ordering, please con- tact Mrs. Pauline Young. Mrs. Bessie Acton of Uxbridge and Mrs. Rita Berrill of Bowman- ville visited Monday with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lee. Mrs. Olive McMillan visited Sun- day with her granddaughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Grygiel at Newmarket. Mr. and Mrs. Don Campbell and children Donald Jr. and Andrea, at- tended a birthday party at Mississauga on Sunday evening for Don's grandmother who celebrated her 80th birthday. All nine great: grandchildren were present. The next W.1. meeting will be held at the home of Betty and Willie Stone at 7:30 PM on Wednesday Oc- tober 21. This will be a family meeting with husbands, other fami- ly members and friends invited to attend. Guests will be able to choose between sitting in on the meeting or visiting and playing euchre. Lunch will be served to all later in the even- ing. Mrs. Marion Innes will tell us some interesting facts about some of the birds that we have watched during the past summer season.
