12 -- PORT PERRY STAR -- Tuesday, October 20, 1987 Biggest show ever for international rabbit fans Elmer Huggins couldn't be any happier about the way things turn- ed out at the 1987 Conference Rab- bit Show held last Friday and Satur- day at the Blackstock Recreation Centre and arena Hosted by the Central Ontario Rabbit Breeders Club (CORBC), of which Mr. Huggins, of Sonya, is president, the show attracted near- ly 900 people from all over Canada and the United States. Rabbit breeders and enthuiasts came from as far away as Quebec and Ohio, and from all across On- tario, to have their top animals judg- -- ed, and to share some good times Ww ith people with the same interests. "It's been a good, no, a perfect weekend," Mr. Huggins said. And while a good time was had by all at the banquet and awards ceremony Saturday night, the highlight of the conference was the bunnies themselves, nearly 1,000 rabbits of different shapes, sizes, colours, and breeds. The annual show is held at dif- ferent locations each year-- Blackstock hosted it four years ago, but it is proving such a popular spot, that plans are already in the works to hold it here again in the near future.
