The annual District 4 of Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies was held in Lindsay on Thursday. Attending from Blackstock Fair were Rolly Coy, Moira Fallis, Kathleen Petrie, Elizabeth and Joyce Kelly. The date of the 1988 Blackstock Fair was established as August 27. Congratulations to Elizabeth Kelly who was elected as Assistant Homecraft Representative. The Y.M.C.A. Floor Hockey now has two divisions. In the Junior Divi- sion the Blackstock Bombers "bombed" the Blackstock Leafs 7-2. Scoring for the Bombers were Bradley Morton 3, Tommy Waters 2, Brenda Tromans and Ronald Kel- ly 1 each while Dillon Weber and Jason Logan each scored for the Leafs. In the Senior Division after a 5 minute overtime period the Cart- wright Canadian and Blackstock Bruins were tied 3-3. Scoring for the Canadians were Mike Leach, Mark Simmons and John Ford while Daryl Dutkewich scored all 3 for the Bruins. Cartwright High School held a very successful Hallowe'en Dance at the Recreation Centre on Friday evening. The students are busy sell- ing Christmas bells and citrus fruit. The Annual Mother and Daughter Banquet was held last Monday even- ing at the Rec Centre. Over one hun- dred daughters with their mothers enjoyed the chicken dinner follow- ing the Presentation of Colours, O'Canada, and the singing of Grace. After dinner District Commis- sioner Joan Swain introduced the Head Table. Mrs. Linda Fletcher thanked the caterers Brenda Bryant and her committee. Mrs. Carol Mairs proposed the Toast to the Guide Movement which was replied to by Julie Byers. Belinda Espie proposed the Toast to the Mothers to which Mrs. Ruby VanCamp replied.
