Monday October 12, being Thanksgiving we did not have any planned activities but did enjoy the many visitors that stopped by. Tuesday afternoon, 23 residents loaded on a bus and went on a leaf tour. Everyone enjoyed the scenery and the beautiful colourful leaves on the trees. On our way back home we stopped for a treat of ice cream cones. For those who did not go on the bus trip they spent the afternoon making pumpkin pies and jellied salads. In the evening the Port Perry Presbyterian Church provid- ed a delightful service. The following day we passed away most of the day preparing for the Supper Club. This month it was decided that they would make their own Thanksgiving dinner. The other residents spent the afternoon singing away during a sing-song. The Man- chester/Island United Church pro- vided an evening of worship. Wednesday the 21st was manicures and then after supper hour was a euchre game. During the following afternoon we had a craft session. Some residents were busy making table decorations for the Halloween Party. In the evening the Port Perry Legion ladies entertained us at our monthly birthday party. Cake and refreshments were served along with each birthday resident receiv- ing a gift. A very special thank you to these wonderful ladies. To end the week on Friday we had a Wheel of Fortune game. Con- gratulations to all of the winners. Upcoming events in the next two weeks are our Annual Halloween Party on Oct. 29th at 7 p.m. (everyones welcome to attend) and also a special Men's Gab on the 30th. The residents would like to welcome back their exercise in- structor 'Mrs. Riet Orde" who had been on a leave of absence. Just a reminder that our Christmas Bazaar is on Saturday December 5. We still have a few vendor spots left, if anyone is in- terested in renting a spot (985-3205). We also have our Xmas draw tickets now on sale for only $1.00.
