The choir sang an anthem ** This Do In Remembrance of Me' and the congregation joined in the singing of some old favourite hymns as well as an impromptu version of a newer song "Magic Penny" used as a part of the children's story time. Rev. John Tapscott is on holiday from his charge of Orangedale on Cape Breton Island. Several attended the Holstein Show at the Royal on Friday. Ken, Beth and Brian Catherwood were dinner guests with Ruth Ashton on Sunday. Mrs. Postma's mother Mrs. Mound who has recently moved to our area is ill in Uxbridge Hospital - we wish her a speedy recovery. Nov. 10th - The Utica-Epsom U..C.W. held their Nov. meeting at Daheim after a sing-song and some humorous reading, each member of the nursing home who had a birth- day in November received a small gift. The Canadian Food Grains Bank, Uxbridge Unit sent a letter on behalf of Floyd Evans and Orvan Brethour, the chairmen of Uxbridge Group to thank those who have helped. It is feared that 5 to 7 million Ethiopians will face starvation by the end of 1987. There is a shortage not of grain or volunteer work, the shortage is money, all donations are matched by C.I.D.A. on a three to one basis -- money now -- bagging Feb. or March. A note came to me from Garry and Debbie Evans from Moncton, New Brunswick to the friends and neighbours of Epsom. Debbie and Garry wish to thank the friends and neighbours of Ep- som for the wonderful surprise chivaree while in Epsom on their honeymoon. The welcome and kind thoughts were much appreciated. '""Home is where the heart is" and you proved it true. booklets can be ordered. There will be a meeting this Thursday night of the Greenbank ark and Hall Board to review the 1987 projects. The meeting will be in the hall at 8 p.m. (Nov. 19) - all board members should attend. The Royal Winter Fair in Toron- to has been a very popular place this past week. The Holstein Show on Friday, brought visitors from all parts of the world, Japan, S. America, Germany, U.K., Italy, United Kingdom and all across Canada. Bus loads of men and women toured farms in various parts of Ont. including the Neil Raines and Murray and Bob Stone farms in our area. Clifford Narfason, Richard Peters and Tom Crockett, Holstein Breeders from Manitoba in Ont. for the Royal Winter Fair Show, stayed over Sat. night at.the home of Willie & Betty Stone and visited several farms in this area before returning to their respective homes in Manitoba on Sunday night. Mr. Gregg Themer of Edmonton was a guest with Jim and Kathy Phoenix during the Royal. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Holtby had as their guests, her brother Sidney & Ellen Bailey of Brooklin on Sat. evening then on Monday evening, Harold & Margaret celebrated Margaret's birthday at the home of their son Robert and Jeanne in Cawkers Creek, Port Perry. Happy birthday Margaret from your friends & neighbours. Visiting with Mrs. Kathleen Leask recently was Karen Mundinger, who is a professional golfer in Florida. Mrs. Dale Ellison of Thamesville and son Stephen visited with her parents Helen & Don McKean over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Armour McMillian spent Sunday afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. Ted Kydd in Goodwood. Guests with Mr. and Mrs. Art Couves recently were Mr. and Mrs. R.W. Bailey of Brampton.
