30 -- PORT PERRY STAR -- Tuesday, November 24, 1987 School held its own Remembrance service Blackstock and Area News by Joyce Kelly Some of those who attended the impressive annual Remembrance Day Service at Blackstock on November 11 remarked about the absence of the school children. There is a very good reason for that the staff and senior students of C.C.P.S. arranged a very mean- ingful service at the school for Remembrance Day. Special music was provided by the School Band under the direction of John Bierness and Judy Jeffrey. Rev. Davis spoke to the students on the meaning of Remembrance Day. This last week two more well known Island people passed away. Maude Brown had spent much of her life and raised her family on the Island and was honoured by having the road named after her. However, she spent her later years in Port Perry. Then a relative Perc. Brown living on the same road also passed away last week. Therefore the Island people convey their con- dolences to the family and relatives.
