Medals for competitors Children skated in Frolics Greenbank and Area News by Mrs. Armour McMillan On Saturday, Dec. 12, three Greenbank children from Sunderland Skating Club par- ticipated in the Scugog Frolics In- vitational competition in Lindsay. Barbara Phayre a Novice C finish- ed 4th in her Flight. Anson Crosier competed in pre-Juvenile C and Tonya Trainor a Curtain Climber finished 1st in her Flight and 3rd in the finals, winning a bronze medal. Congratulations kids, for a job well done! The Third Sunday of Advent was celebrated on Sunday morning with Mr. & Mrs. Neil Hunter lighting the candle. Before the service, Sarah Phoenix and Shelly Spencer led in carol sing- ing and both the Junior & Senior choirs sang Christmas selections. Holly Beattie sang a solo 'Away In A Manger.' The sermon was on Bap- tism. This was also White Gift Sunday. Landon Gordon, son of Mr. & Mrs. Gordon Beacock was baptized and welcomed into the fellowship of the Christian Church. Christmas Eve Service is to be in Seagrave at 7:30 p.m. People are re- quested to bring a candle. Mr. & Mrs. Harold Beatty, son and family of Bobcaygeon attended the service on Sunday for the bap- tism of Landon Gordon Beacock. Mrs. Jean Butler visited on Sun- day with Mr. & Mrs. Don McKean. Mrs. Bessie Acton visited with Mrs. Olive McMillan on Sunday afternoon. Mr. & Mrs. Neil Hunter and Mr. & Mrs. John Cook have returned from a holiday in the Dominican Republic. Mr. & Mrs. Ron Ashenhurst, Geof- frey & Brian Thornhill, visited with their aunt & uncle Armour & Rachel McMillan Sunday afternoon. A speedy recovery is wished for Mrs. Harold Holtby who has been confined to her home this past few weeks. The Sunday School Concert was a Manchester UCW Manchester UCW members and friends enjoyed a delicious buffet luncheon at Conway Place on' December 3rd. The Christmas meeting was held in the church. The Candlelight Service was com- paring the Christmas Story to the UCW purpose. Several hymns were sung. A short business were the minutes - read and approved. A special collection was taken for the Mission & Service D) Fund. The White Gifts are to be receiv- ed by December 13th. The meeting closed with the benediction. A dainty lunch was served on a table beautifully decorated with the Christmas theme. Lucille crocheted several different items. The ladies were given a small keepsake to take home. The January meeting will be held in the Church, January 7th.
