Port won their first four games and tied the fifth. As luck would have it Scarborough came up with the same results but had a better "goals for and against" average (Port 11, Scarborough 15) than Bruton's 1.D.A. This marginal difference eliminated Port from the final game of the tournament. The girls put on a fine perfor- mance and should be very proud of their efforts Just for the record our Petite B's haven't lost a game this year. Scoring for the tournament were Michelle Fitzpatrick (3) goals, (2) assist, Jennifer Morden (2) assists, Tanya Towns (3) assists, Lyndsay Dutkewich (12) goals, (4) assists, Leea Kinnunen (3) goals, (3) assists, Amanda Webb (1) goal (3) assists, Tracy Pelow (1) assist, Amy Parliament (4) goals, (6) assists, Kim Poppleton (1) assist, Shannon Fox (9) goals, (4) assists, Brandy Harris (2) assists, Karen Kett (2) assists. At the Tyke level he uses one word commands which are easy for the youngsters to understand and incor- porate games like 'Simon Says.' With older players he relates the Tyke hockey The 1st year tykes saw plenty of action on the ice Friday evening as they practised their many skills. They particularly enjoyed the stick handling maneuvers and the scrimmage to follow. Continuing to improve for Don Forder Insurance is Christopher McWilliam, Derek Reid and Devon Symes. Shane = Camern, Matthew McGarry and Derek Shaddock of Dowson's Valu-Mart also look good. Leigh McClymont and Nicholas Ostafichuk for Scugog Overhead Doors and Bradley Beenen and Ryan McQuade for Kinsmen are also doing very well. The advanced tykes also saw plenty of action on the ice Friday evening, showing they have plenty of style and are extremely confident in their ability to skate forward and backward and making their stops work for them. At the teen age level players quite often have received instruction that differs in some way from what Michael teaches. His style in these situations is to say 'try it my way and then decide for yourself.' With the extremely heavy workload he carries during the winter, you might be inclined to ask, 'Why is he bothering to come to Port Perry?' His answer gives special in- sight to this remarkable teacher. He comes to Port Perry to instruct hockey players because he was ask- ed. He thoroughly enjoys teaching and if someone wants to learn he is only to happy to oblige. 1 MEATING PLACE w. 180 Queen St. -- PORT PERRY -- 985-2818 Quality Meats, Gourmet Cuts Birthday Cakes, Party Trays For details call There's a lot of interest in Mutual Lifé's RRSP ® No fees, no charges ® Competitive interest rates ® Great income options at retirement Save with confidence with Mutual Life.
