ER RACE FIR ANDES EA Scugog Community Care is a non- profit organization of volunteers and helpers providing services to 300 senior citizens and those in special need, where services are not other- wise available in Scugog Township. They are asking groups and in- dividuals for financial and volunteer support to continue their work. This year they need $4,200 to meet their budget. Twenty new volunteers are needed on an occasional basis, to meet the 30 per cent increase in de- mand for their programs. You may not be aware that the United Way Campaign does not sup- port Scugog Township charities. Community Care must rely on our support. Individuals wishing to make a donation will receive an of- ficial receipt for Income Tax purposes. Donations are used to co-ordinate in the most cost effective manner the twelve programs Community Care offers. Mrs. Lynn Linday of Oshawa demonstrated how to make a cor- sage and a centre piece for the Christmas season. Following this very interesting demonstration she donated a centre piece which was won by Nora Prentice and the cor- ARLENE's sage by Luelle Bailey. Christmas gifts which were donated by Hilda Bailey were drawn and won by Ineke Dianarian, Elva Kerry, Eliz. Taylor, Vera Brown, Jenny Watson, Mary Gibner & Wilda Myers. Elizabeth led the worship service which was based on Christmas. Scriptures Isaiah 9:6 & Matt. 2: 1-11 were read by Elva Kerry and Matt. 25: 34-40 by Vera Brown. Hymns "Hark the Hearld Angels Sing", "Away in a Manager' & "O Little Town of Bethleham" were sung. Of- fering received & dedicated. We were reminded in prayer to remember that we celebrate Christmas in remembrance of Jesus Christ who was God's gift to us.
