Theme -- "A friend loveth at all times" -- Proverbs 17:17. We were fortunate to have such a beautiful winter's day for those driving from a distance. Retiring President Mary Dur- ward constituted the morning ses- sion with prayer. Our grateful ap- preciation to Mary for four years of dedicated leadership. Incoming President Barbara McEachern presided over the afternoon ses- sion, and we look forward to her guidance. Miss Barbara Woodruff, from the National Office, was our Guest Speaker. She had been on a study tour in the Soviet Union in May of last year, so. in keeping with this year's study "Peoples and Churches of the U.S.S.R." gave a slide presentation of her ee» Restaurant and Bining Lounge | Canadian and Butch Cuigine visit. We viewed pictures of Moscow, Leningrad, Talinn and Zagorsk, showing many onion- domed churches. Some of the churches are being renovated; others are now used as museums. The Soviet Unign has many war monuments and also monuments depicting astronauts and space exploration. From Barbara's commentary we had an insight in- to the daily lives of the people. An interesting question and answer period followed. We were happy to meet our new Area Educational Consultant, Miss Lynda Hoffos, who installed the new Executive. Lynda en- couraged us to contact her for help or explanations. She feels we have a partnership so we have to do things together. Morning Worship Service was given by Leaskdale and the after- noon service by Kirkfield. Both were beautifully presented and embraced the Theme on Friend- ship. There were seven 'In tls Pl 2) Memoriums.'"' Mrs. Rita Fairley of Fenelon Falls rendered a beautiful solo. "Do not worry about tomorrow." Courtesies were capably looked after by Florence Fennell.
