Belles accepted the challenge of the Port Perry Ban- dits hockey team. This was a fast end to end game with the girls having their hands full at the start of the game when the Bandits took an early 2 to 0 lead. Once the girls realized that they could play this fast wide open game against these gentlemen they soon took control. I.G.A. took the lead before the end of the first half and held on until the end of the game to defeat the Bandits by a score of 5 to 4. Scoring for the Bandits was: Wayne Taylor with all four goals. His teammates tell me that they feel Wayne has found his game along with his garbage cans! Scoring for the Belles were Michelle Ryan 2 goals, Tina Soomre 1 goal, Vicki Reid 1 goal and Jen Pelow 1 goal. Sorry about the assists girls, but the game sheet is not available. Special mention should go to T.C. for a standout game in goal. The Port Perry 1.G.A. Belles would like to thank this team of gentlemen for the good game and also for the generous donation to the Port Perry Ringette Associa- tion. We also will try and accept their challenge to a return game in the near future. Broomball news The first broomball game of the day had Goreskis defeating Odd- fellows 4 to 0.
