! TEN 1. Nursing home news Well we are finally getting some good winter weather. On Monday, Feb. 1st, we had movies. Everyone certainly enjoyed wat- «ching ""Tap Dance Kid," "Kluane: Yukon Territory," and "Japan: The Collective Giant." . The following day we loaded up the cars and the Handi-transit Van and headed off for the day to . Kim Mitchells' lovely home. This was a special get well visit as Kim has been off work due to recent surgery and we all wish her well with her recovery. The residents -- as a group -- presented Kim with some get well gifts and also a 15 ft. long banner. While there, we enjoyed the socialization time and was delighted with the lun- cheon. Lunch consisted of Veg & Dip, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Pizza, Heart-shaped cakes. It was all accented with a very tasty punch. On the 3rd, we had manicures. Several residents loved having their nails all painted up. In the evening, there was an exciting euchre match. On Thurs. we had a craft ses- sion. The ladies made some real = BUSINESS DIRECTORY FU Johg=-1[=7- AM ee] hg-F-Yag=12{= GEE ELECTRIC MOTOR SERVICE Sales, Repairs & Rewinding to All Motors. After dinner, there was a very popular bingo game. To end this first week of Feb., we had a Sweetheart Quiz. Of course, the word games were all related to the upcoming Valen- tine's Day. Congratulations to the lucky cupid winners. Mon. Feb. 8th, was bowling. Top scorer was Doug Callbeck with 104 points. Tues. was "Send a Flower Day." Our cute little cupid was Michelle Kimmerly who did a great job at delivering the flowers. I'm sure that others feel the same way as I do which is that it sure makes you feel good to receive a flower. In the latter part of the afternoon, the residents were busy decorating their doors for Valentine's Day. On the 10th was baking. The ladies were extremely busy doing baking for the upcoming box social. In the evening was a euchre. Thurs. was a craft day. Several ladies were kept busy making lamb & bunny pins which is all in preparation for our upcoming Spring Bazaar. A coffee hour was held in the evening with several games starting off the night. The games ranged from checkers -- to -- crib -- Crazy 8's -- etc. An. enjoyable evening was had by all those who participated. Fri. Feb. 12th, we had our Valentine Party. We were all so happy to have a special visit from a Grade 2 class from R.H. Cor- nish. These sweet children visited with us and passed out lovely homemade Valentines. To show our appreciation we sang them a few songs and gave each of them a treat. Later on we played some games, such as "What kind of lover are you?" quiz and Valen- tine trivia and also a Heart game. We all thoroughly enjoyed the fan- cy sandwiches along with the 'cheese, crackers & pickle trays. What a nice way to end the week!!!!1!! Birthday wishes are extended to Mr. Larry Glasgow (Feb. 22). Special upcoming activities are the Box Social (Feb. 16), Resi- dent's Council Meeting (17), Mon- thly Birthday Party (18), Supper Club (18), Comfort Clothing (19), and the Dating Game (26). The residents and staff would like to pass along a warm welcome to two new residents. They are Miss Mona Mero and Mr. Thomas McClurg and they are both known throughout the Port Perry area. Our heartfelt sympathy goes to the family of Miss Hazel English who passed away quietly on Fri. Feb. 5th while in the hospital. Although Hazel was only with us for a few days before being hospitalized we will all remember her dearly. We were also saddened by the news of Mrs. Marjorie Maynes who passed away on Feb. 8th while in the hospital. The staff will surely remember Marjorie for she sure loved to be dolled up with her make-up. Our sympathy goes out to Marjorie's family and friends. [ Looking for A Place to Advertise Your Business?
