This will be a fun night for the entire fami- ly, with two Irish dancers- Janet Stachow and Kim Judges. Slide presentation by Rev. John Porter from the Centenary United Church, Hamilton. This year marks the 100th Anniversary of Dublin. For the evening, each per- son is to wear something green, your lunch will be green and the cost is one green piece per fami- ly. Sounds like a great evening. Don't miss it. The First Ashburn Scouts and their leaders Tom Leedle, Ken Brown and Ron Ashton enjoyed a weekend retreat near Haliburton. Julie Emm has just returned from a holiday in Florida, having visited with her grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Sid Emm in Fort Lauder- dale. We are pleased to hear Mr. Emm is feeling much better, en- joying the Florida sunshine. Presently, Michael Emm is visiting his grandparents in Florida. Congratulations to Betty Emm for achieving such good marks in a course which she recently com- pleted at Durham College. World Day of Prayer is on Fri- day of this week. The Kirk Guild is sponsoring a Theatre trip on Thurs. May 26th, to the Shaw Festival at Niagara- on-the-Lake. There was a good turn out at the regular meeting of the Brooklin Horticultural meeting last Wednesday evening, with presi- dent Veronica Colangelo in the chair. Fun with Flora was en- joyed by all present. Grace Coe showed us a brief but most in- teresting movie of the different stages of an Amaryllis unfolding. A slide presentation by Ken Brown - also an interesting and in- formative panel conducted by Chrissie McKinney, Mary Housego and Ken, answering questions regarding culture, pro- pogation, pests and diseases related to house plants. Some good tips on Geraniums and African Violets were shared. Looking ahead to April, Ken Brown will be conducting a Land- scape Design Course on Monday evenings throughout April. April 4-11-18 and 25 at Burns Presbyterian Church, Ashburn. Eleven tables of euchre were played at the euchre party last Thursday evening. Mens prizes to Doris Evans, Art Richardson and Terry Parrott. Ladies prizes to Dorothy Whittington and Bessie Spencer. Lone hands to Jack Brights. Jim Housego won the door prize. 50/50 draw won by Mary Housego. The next euchre will be on Thurs. March 10. The Eleanor Knight Group of the W.M.S. will meet on Wednes- day afternoon of this week at the home of Lois Daw at 2 o'clock. Seniors The Senior Citizens held thew meeting on Wednesday. I"ebruary 24 at 2:00 p.m. The president, Clara Warren welcomed everyone. O Canada was sung. Miss LeRoy ol the Library came and spoke to us tor a few minutes on Arm Char Travelling. There is to be movies on different countries and there were quite a lot of seniors in terested. These are to be shown at the Library. The meeting was followed by a few games of cards, then a pot luck supper. We were entertain- ed by the Golden Slippers group. Later Everett Prentice called off for square dancing.
