Scugog Mens League Blanchards on to A playoffs The first game of the day saw Blanchard's Supply Co. advance to the "A" division playoffs as t defeated Compton Cable T.V. 5-3. Capitalizing for Blanchard's were Rod Jones 1 goal, 2 assists, Dan Horner 1 goal, 2 assists, Al Bonner, Glen Hudson, and Tom Patton 1 goal each. Other assists to Ron Zaparanuik 2 and Dennis Sims one. Counting for Compton were John Robertson 1 goal, 1 assist, Brad Hurst 1 goal, 1 assist, and Peter Lane 1 goal. Assists to Jim Beatty 2 and Larry Page one. Game two saw Larocque Elec- tric squeeze past Crandell's Riverboat 3-2 and with help from Norton's, edged out Sportsland to get into the "A" division. Leading the way for Larocque were Ed Olsen from Steve Gard- ner, Dave Milton from Carl Fit- zgerald, and Doug Bache unassisted. Fighting for Crandell's were Wayne Taylor from Larry Jackson and Ken Jeffrey from Carl Durward. Game three saw Dennis Ander- son's white wash J & D "rpen- try 7-2 to advance to the "A" division. Scorers for Anderson's were Bill Bridge 2 goals, 1 assist, Dave The Novice Auctioneers met up with Cobourg Friday night at the Port Perry Arena for the final game in this series and to deter- mine who will go on to the next level of playoffs. The Auctioneers won this game 5-1 and were all fired up to play hockey as was evi- dent in the first few minutes of the game. Port opened up on a breakaway to beat the goalie. From then on, Port dominated the game cashing in with five goals in the 1st period. The second period saw Cobourg answer back with only 1 goal. The third period saw plenty of action, but no goals from either team to give Port a definite win of 5-1. Bourgeois 2 goals, 1 assist, Jim Duncan 2 goals, and Bruce Gracie one goal. Adding assists were Ron Hoogeboom 3, Glen McCoy and Sean Kenny 1 a piece. Markers for J & D were Joe Curran from Bob Tarbotton and Ken Nightingale and Bob Tarbot- ton from Joe Curran and George Gladish. The fourth game was an all out battle in which Norton's came out winners as they skated to a 9-5 victory over Sportsland. Scoring for Norton's were Dave Mann 1 goal, 3 assists, Bill Hurst 2 goals, 1 assist, Bob Lee 1 goal, 1 assist, Keijo Kinnunen 2 goals, Brian Norton 1 goal, 1 assist, Bill Van Camp and Dan Carty 1 goal each. Also assisting were Denzil Irving with 2, Rob Evans, Bob McEachern, Clarence Stephenson and Dick Martin all with one. Scorers for Sportsland were Ken Little 3 goals, 1 assist and Mark Jobb 2 goals. Helping out were Brian Samis 3 assists, Mike "Tator"' Adams 2, Ken Smart and Dale Bronson 1 a piece. Scoring for Port and playing a terrific game was Tim Fitz- patrick with 3 goals. Also playing a strong game for Port was Tom- my Chambers with 2 goals. Draw- ing assists were Jason Logan, Darryl Moase and Brad Morton. This win now puts Port into the next round of playoffs, which sees them matched up with Stouffville in a best of 5 series and could pro- ve to be an exciting series. Taylor Insurance was held Saturday at the Port Perry Curling Club with a rink from the Royal Canadian Club taking home the silverware. Jerry Taylor presents trophy to skip Al Sutherland and team members Trudy Poisson, Bob St. Jacques and Karen Spencer. They won all three games for 42 points. Runner up with 39 points was the Ken Goreski rink from Port Perry.
