[ certainly hope that everyone's bodies have now adjusted to the time change. (none-the-less to say that mine hasn't yet)!! On the 28th and 29th of March several residents were busy mak- ing delicious chocolate-covered easter eggs and decorating them. Thank you to all those who sup- ported easter egg sales. Also on the 29th was bowling. Top scorer of the day was Lionel Blaikie with 102 points. Then in the evening a church service was given by the Lois Ashmore does a variety of jobs at Community Memorial Hospital, and one of them is sorting clean laundry. As a member of the hospital's housekeeping staff, her mandate Is to keep the building as ship- shape as possible. Unfortunately, her efforts usually go unrewarded--but not this week, Health Care Housekeepers Week. See page 26 for story and more photos. A well attended Bingo was on Wednesday March 30th which - hosted several lucky winners. On the last day of March quite 'a few residents were kept busy working on a variety of different crafts which will be up for sale at our Spring Carnival & Craft Sale (May 14th). As we head into April we started off with another Bowling match on Monday April 4th. The lucky winner with a score of 124 points was Phyliss Lambert. The following morning we had an Easter Surprise organized by Miss Jackie Tripp (Co-op stu- dent). Several Grade 1 R.H. Cor- nish students paid us a visit and produced a skit and read stories pertaining to Easter & Jesus. Afterwards we all enjoyed homemade cookies, squares and grape drink. After lunch hour a fairly large group gathered around the piano for a delightful sing-song accompanied by Lynn- Marie Johnson on the piano. Also a few residents were busy plan- ting cuttings during the Garden- ing activity. In the evening a church service was provided by the Greenbank United Church. The ever-popular manicures was held on Wednesday (6th). Afterwards everyone enjoyed a treat of Hot Cross Buns. During the day on Thursday was crafts. Several residents did stencilling on the cloth napkins and were very pleased with the results. For those who are unable to attend activities we had a reading program. They all cer- tainly enjoyed the poems that were read to them. In the evening we had a surprise Pub Night that went really well. Entertainment was provided by Mrs. D. Adams' & Friends. A great night was had by all. : On Friday April 8th we had a Bingo and also some baking. A very special thank you to the Blackstock Senior Citizens Club for the donation for the Residents Activity Fund. Also a warm thanks to the Blackstock Brownies for the cute Easter treats. They sure brightened up our Easter day. I am pleased to report that our euchre activity is running twice weekly now and has become very popular on account of Mr. Fred Balling organizing the event. Just a reminder that our Spring Carnival & Craft Sale is quickly approaching. It will be on Satur- day May 14th from 11to4 p.m. Be sure to mark this on your calendar.
