Boats and motors have always been a traditional target, especial- ly in rural areas around the lake. But over the weekend, thieves took more than just the boat, they took the dock as well. Police say a resident of Scu- gog Island reported theft of a 14 foot aluminum boat and a section of wooden dock 16 feet long and 30 inches wide. Both the boat and the dock had been pulled up on the shore for the winter. of them while they spend 4 more months on a transfer in hydro work in Vienna, Austria. We understand one of the boys is attending a French school & they are quickly picking up, sur- rounding languages. During their spare time the family is trying to see many places of interest. First with the Scugog Choir concert and dinner this weekend at the Community Hall, I assume you have your tickets, if not, look in Coming Events for the numbers to call. Then Monday night at 7 P.M. at Adeline Blayone's for the Ecumenical Women's meeting. Next Sunday, April 24 the U.C.W.'s of the Island United will ARLIE MOTOR SALES Scugog Choir concert, dinner this weekend take leadership roles in the Church Service and the 'Exodus Story" will be emphasized along with some staging of characters. After the Church Service the young people have their monthly meeting. This month's topic will be "drugs" - very important for you or your friends. The leaders will be Rusty and Lyle. Next Tuesday, April 26 is the monthly Coffee Hour at the Island United when 'the guest speaker will be Susan Shepherd from '""Auberge" in Oshawa. Though the weather has chang- ed and our thoughts of spring and summer plans with it, our young people should think if they wish to attend a church camp and therefore start getting informa- tion and making plans.
