About 75 attended the event at Henry and Jean Chafe's bush outside Fenelon Falls. Frank and Muriel Hoskin and Murray and Aileen Byers visited Aileen and Muriel's sister Hazel Belyea who is currently a patient in Oakville-Trafalger Hospital. Better health is wished for Mrs. Elva VanCamp in Port Perry Hospital and Mrs. Norma Smith who has undergone surgery in Oshawa Hospital. The Public Relations report was filled out together by the meeting. Dora Martyn, Program Co- Ordinator gave the report on the other convenors. We did well this year. Muriel Hoskin took the chair for the election of the officers. Our next meeting will be held at a later date owing to the District Annual at Maple Grove on May 4. Anyone wishing to attend be at the hall by 9 a.m. The meeting clos- ed by singing O'Canada. In Floor Hockey there was on- ly one game - the seniors with the Bruins defeating the Canadians 6-2. Scoring for the Bruins were Darryl Dutkewich 3, Lyndsay Dutkewich, Mike Hepburn and Paul Bycok each scoring and for the losers Brendon Agnew and Kendall Chorostecki one each. Dwayne Bryant and friend Melissa from Guelph and Julie Bryant from North Bay both spent the weekend at home and were in the wedding party when their aunt Diane Ormiston was united in marriage with Doug Bryant in a beautiful wedding in Blackstock United Church. Both Dwayne and Julie had to return to their schools to complete their ex- ams and other activities before completion. Congratulations to the cast of the Borelian play "Nobody Loves a Dragon" which won best musical and prize for the Direc- tor Chris Rollo for the best Direc- Students honoured during special evening tor of a Musical. This Regional Competition took place on the weekend in Toronto. In May the play advances to the Ontario Competition which will be held in North Bay. Many local residents are involved in this pro- duction. Congratulations and best wishes as you advance to the pro- vincial competition. The Morning Unit of U.C.W. met at the C.E. Room of the United Church on Tuesday mor- ning. After morning tea buffet style, President Jean Kyte open- ed with a poem about Spring Thoughts. Peggy Larmer read the Wor- ship of Samuel 1:26. The theme was Spring Planting. How you plant seeds of love and Love and Life of others? Poem -- 'Package of Seeds' by Edmond Guest. Pro- gramme -- Don Ashbridge from the Island, Lois Luke's brother-in- law, showed a beautiful collection of carnival glass and antique dishes and shared his wealth of knowledge. Twelve ladies gathered at the home of Aileen Byers last Tues- day for the afternoon Unit of the U.C.W. Leader Grace Hall open- ed with a poem. Roll Call: A bi- ble verse which tells the Easter message, brought a variety of in- teresting responses. It was an- nounced that the New Jerusalum Singers will present their year's Cantata at the Blackstock United Church on Sunday, May 1 at 7:30 p.m. Programme also taken by Grace used the Bible Study to ex- plore the Fullness of Life section of a new Church curriculum call- ed '"Whole People of God." Marion Larmer closed with the Benediction. On April 2, the Blackstock Bush Bunch met at 7:00 p.m. sharp at the Blackstock United Church to hold their third meeting. The theme for the meeting was "Safety in the Outdoors." Our guest speaker for the evening to guide us along on our topic - is an Outdoor Enthusist herself - Guide Commissioner Swain. Mrs. Swain discussed potential hazards in which one may ven- ture into while hiking. In return we discussed what possible in- juries could occur from these hazards; as well as what preven- tions can be taken to avoid these hazards.
