Sweet victory (From page 1A) Dukes stayed on the ice at the conclusion as League convenor Andy McLauchlan presented the championship trophy to captain Darren Nesbitt. And they congrat- ulated the MoJacks on their victo- ry. Coach George Burnett said af- ter the game he was pleased with the team effort, calling it the best game played by the MoJacks in the series. And he was right. This was a team victory with a contribution from every player on the roster. Individually, Jeff McColl was a stand-out, as was Brian Tarleton, playing in his sixth straight game. Several guys played in pain with nagging injuries that don't have time to heal when the games come every second night. Now the MoJacks have other things on their minds, like the Hanover Barons. But the night of April 12 belonged to them, a night to savor in the long history of the Junior C organization. The Uxbridge Swim Club, with several members from Scu- gog Township has been making some waves at top level competi- tions for the past year or so. Last weekend, the team mem- bers were at the all-Ontario Quad A championship held at Brock University. Last year, the Ux- bridge club placed 16th out of 29 teams at the Quad A meet. The club now has 65 youngsters from 7 to 18 years of age, including 12 from Scugog Township. Formed less than two years ago, in October 86, the club is af- filiated with the Canadian Ama- teur Swimming Association, which means it can compete in CASA santioned events. There are five dedicated volun- teer coaches who spend many hours training and building team spirit and discipline in the young competitors. They are DAle Campsall, Susan Middleton, Mark Slater, Mary and Terry Bryon.
