'Pig Out' barbecue soon Utica and Area News by Vera Brown This week Church & Sunday School services will be held in Ep- som Church at 11:15 a.m. and there will be Holy Baptism & transfer of membership. The U.C.W. will hold their May meeting at the home of Melba McKay on Tuesday, May 10th at 8 p.m. Ladies please note the change from the regular time. Get your tickets for the "Pig Out' pork chop barbeque to be held on Friday, May 20th at Utica hall. Proceeds will go to the Church organ fund and tickets may be obtained from members of the Board. Flowers which decorated the church sanctuary on Sunday were from the funeral of the late Mrs. Johanna Koppen. Sincere sym- pathy is sent to Jane Sobil and family in their bereavement of a beloved grandmother. A reminder of the Blood Donor Clinic at Uxbridge, Secondary School on Monday, May 9th from 3 to 8 p.m. which is sponsored by the nurses association at Ux- bridge Cottage Hospital. A "Family Night' with "Fireworks" is planned for Mon- day, May 23rd at Epsom School. 'Everyone is invited to come for baseball at 7:30 p.m. There will be sparklers for the kids and fireworks at dusk. Refreshments will be sold with the profits being used to purchase new computer programs for the children at Ep- som Public School. This event will also be the Social Club event for this month. Thanks to the Epsom-Utica Social Club for helping support the even- ing. We look forward to seeing everyone on Monday, May 23rd. There were 11 tables of euchre played in Utica Hall last Friday evening with prizes going to the following lucky people. Ladies 1st Grace Thompson, Erma Watson 2nd and Rachel Harper 3rd. Men, George Harper 1st, Bill Brown 2nd and Joe McCaslin 3rd. Freeze-out winners were Joe & Jean Ward, Verna Draper & Doris Evans were second. Draw winners were Bruce Houghland, Grant Bright and Marie Geer. There will be another euchre in two weeks. Mrs. C.
