Cre, In its first major fundraising ef- fort ever, the fledgling Evening Unit of the Greenbank United Church Women, is presenting a unique opportunity to heritage craft buffs. For one day only, Saturday May 7 (1-4p.m.), the Greenbank UCW is presenting a beautiful display of quilts, old and new, in the sun- lit, heritage atmosphere of the Greenbank United Church. According to organizer Joanne Olivero, some 45 quilts will be draped across the warm, time- polished wood of the church pews. Most of the quilts were made in the Greenbank area, and some are more than a century old. For a $2 admission charge, any- one can feel free to browse these beautiful handcrafted quilts, and when they're done browsing, the fee includes a trip downstairs for coffee, tea and homemade des- serts. Mrs. Olivero is hoping the show will "bring old and new people in the community togeth- er," as well as raising some funds for the UCW. Senior Citizens meeting The Senior Citizens held their meeting Wed., Apr. 27th at 2 p.m. President Clara Warren welcomed everyone and our two new members. O'Canada was sung.
