And speaking of "listening" pleasure - one of the key (pardon the pun) ingredients to a wonder- ful musical are the musicians. For those of you who saw Dragon last November, you're in for an added treat this time, since the musicians will be an actual part of the on stage play. Award-winning set designer Leslie A. Parkes has been very busy since Dragon was selected to represent the Central Ontario Region at the provincial Fesitval in North Bay. He is designing a place for the musicians so they will be a part of the on-stage visual presentation. One of the very few citicisms made by ad- judicator Sandy Macdonald was that he wished he could have seen the musicians. Let me just say here that Les has certainly taken care of that - but I'm not going to give away any more than to tell you - it'll be a treat for the eyes. Director Chris Rollow felt very lucky to have found Music Direc- tor Deb Thompson, as well as her partner, Tricia Fewer. In an in- terview with Chris, she express- ed her awe of the talents of these ladies, particularly their ability to look at the written score and just from that be able to "hear" the music. Hosted and organized by Rebel DJ services, all profits from this big night will go to the Ontario Society for Autistic Children. But in return for the admission fee (36 advance, $9 at the door), party-goers can rock to a presen- tation by Much Music and Coca Cola, the video history of rock 'n roll, going back to the days of Buddy Holly, and moving through until present with the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Beach Boys, heavy metal and new wave.
