A very impressive collection of art from a long-time local artist will be on dis- play at the Uxbridge Library for the next three weeks. Mrs. Celia LeDrew will ex- hibit her paintings of landscapes, marks that have disappeared from floral and her most recent project, town land- the Streets of Uxbridge. Mrs. LeDrew was suc- cessful in organizing an exhibit of the late David Milne in 1954, the first time his works had been exhibited outside the Dou with a few of her favourite pictures, glas Duncan gallery. She is seen here one the lighthouse at Louisbourg, Cape Bre- ton where she lived prior to moving to Uxbridge. Mrs. LeDrew was born in Louisbourg, Cape Breton and moved to Uxbridge in 1948. She has always had a love for art and joined the Uxbridge Art Group in the 1950's headed by well known artist Arnold Hodg- kins, who worked from a studio in Leaskdale. In recent years Mrs. LeDrew has spent much of her time doing a series of painting depicting old buildings that have disappeared from the town. The LeDrew Exhibit com- menced on Monday, May 9 in the Tokia Room at the Uxbridge Pub- lic Library and will conclude on May 28th. Festival The seventeenth annual Oshawa-Whitby Kiwanis Fesitval was held recently.
