It was also a good welcome for the return of our Gt. Britain travellers from the "Head" area. The following enjoyed 10 warm, rainless days of happy travel together; Edna & John Beckett, Mrs. Marion Carter, Mrs. Bonnie Gerrow & her sister, Mrs. Betty Reader, Mrs. Doreen Adam and her parents and Mrs. Helen Red- man. We understand Mrs. Down By The Creek down at the Church Greenbank Sunday School An- niversary service on June 5 at 11 a.m. will be a musical experience, "Down By The Creek Bank": presented by the Junior Choir and members of the Sunday School. Take note that there will be no Services at Greenbank next Sun- day, May 29, but you are invited to attend Anniversary Services at Seagravee at 11 a.m. We are sorry toreport that Mr. Jack Couperthwaite is a patient in Uxbridge Hospital. Hope he will be home soon. Mrs. Aileen Dobson and Mrs. Muriel Leask of Uxbridge enjoyed a bus tour to Ottawa for three days last week to enjoy the tulips and other attractions. The afternoon unit of the U.C.W. will hold their monthly meeting at the Church at 9:30 a.m. on June 1, please note the time change. This service will start at 6:50 until 7:20, going through the subdivisions and from the church parking lot, will return service afterwards. We welcome to the community Mr. and Mrs. Dale McQuade and family who moved into their new home in the west subdivision. A reader of this column phoned to tell me of the nature scene that she observed, she started her story by stating that "Dandelions are everywhere', but they are beautiful. Saturday evening as we travelled south on Hwy. 12 we saw a mother and her children sitting in the field among the dandelions enjoying a picnic. Two hours later, as the sun was setting, the little girl was taking a picture of her mother sitting among the dandelions. The organizers of Greenbank minor batkwould like to thank the Greenbank Orioles Ball Team for their generous donation which enabled us to buy some new equipment for the children. Margaret Morrow also went but with a different group. All this time we watch with in- terest the erection of the new Red- man barn, as three long time friends & neighbours Alan Carter, Roger Hope and Alvin Heayn work along together at the kind of work they enjoy. Now the roof is on to protect the new crop of hay etc. Wed. evening will be a big even- ing for the "Head" residents Mr. & Mrs. Harold Forder as they pro- udly share in the honours bestow- ed upon their daughter Anna Forder-McLaughlin when she is inducted into the Oshawa Sports Hall of Fame for her shared ac- complishments in the Figure Skating World at the age of 17 and her continued work with suc- cessful skaters in that field. We would like to claim Anna as our resident too but that is dif- ficult as she lives half way bet- ween Scugog & Blackstock & school for her children draw her in the other direction. Though not deep in the skating world now, Anna is always awake to other public & business oppor- tunities. Congratulations, Anna & family. We realize it took years of hard work & sacrifice, to earn this honour, presented to you. June 4 is drawing very close.
