by Kim Griffin Wait a minute! Did I calculate correctly? Could there possibly be less than a week of school remain- ing? Yes, I believe I'm right, and eing that there are so few school days left to attend, there is very little to report concerning upcom- ing events at P.P.H.S.. However, there are some past events which deserve mention. Last week there were many ac- tivities taking place inside and outside P.P.H.S:.. On Friday, P.P.H.S. held its first clearance sale in front of the office. Students and teachers were able to pur- chase leftover promotional items such as school sweaters, gym bags, t-shirts, shorts, socks, but- tons, and much more. The prices were cheap, cheap, cheap, and the sale turned out to be a fan- tastic success. Also inside, members of the Student Council attended an ice- cream party in Gym AB last Fri- day to celebrate the completion of their year serving as represen- tatives for the various areas of ac- tivities at P.P.H.S.. A sincere con- gratulations should be extended to all those members of the 1987-88 Student Council, including the Home room reps., for the con- sistently fine efforts which they displayed and the exceedingly agreeable results which they pro- duced all year round. Especially deserving of congratualtions are our President and Vice-president, Heather Agnew and Mike Grass. I'm certain that the newly elected 1988-89 Student Council, headed by Steve London and Sharon Jones, will do an equally as im- aI p.. - - dk oh a Lb De I Lo i a a eB I ek at re o_o pressive job. BS Outside, the senior students and some of the staff members took full advantage -of the beautiful weather and participated in two - baseball games. On Wednesday, at lunch, an exciting game took place among Mr. Scuse's World Issues students, and on Friday, a challenging game was held bet- ween the teachers and Grade 13s. Unfortunately, when I attempted to seek out the final score of the latter of these two games, I received several different answers. The teachers insisted that they won, while many of the Grade 13 students claimed vic- tory. It was confusing to say the least, but I did manage to discover that a great time was had by all those who participated. Oh, there is one or two upcom- ing events that I must mention: exams and report cards! Yes, for those of you who are not exemp- ted, exams will begin June 14th and end on June 22nd. Report cards will be issued June 30th and you can pick yours up at the school. Well, I suppose that completes the last bit of P.P.H.S. news to report. It's distressing to be writing the last news article for 1987-88 school year, because I've enjoyed it immensely. 1 remember the first news article that I wrote back in September. In fact, I remember it distinctly because that was also the day that I went shopping and bought this fantastic blouse, and...well, I won't bore you with the details. I would like to thank all the other P.P.H.S. Star reporters-Lisa, Oliver, Charlene, and Cheryl-for the wonderful job that they did; and I would especially like to thank Mrs. Lackie for all of her advice and encouragement throughout the year. It has been a rewarding experience writing the P.P.H.S. news, and I hope that many of you who will be return- ing in the fall will take advantage of this great opportunity.
