| Two straight The Greenbank Mites (7-8 co- ed) won their second straight baseball game in league action Mon., May 30th versus Seagrave. Ryan McQuade stopped a Seagrave rally with a timely dou- ble play at 1st base. Stephanie Watson has gone 7 for 8 as lead- off batter in 2 games. for Greenbank Julie and Chris Good turned a nice double play for Seagrave. Players Tom Keeble, Daniel Petronijevic and Sean Fletcher (for Greenbank) and Tim, Jor- dan, Steve G., Adam, and Jason (for Seagrave) came through with big hits for their respective teams. Bats working well Lifestyle 2000 team from Green- bank had their bats working well for them against Seagrave last. Monday, May 30 at Seagrave Park winning 26 - 11. Hitting homeruns for Green- bank were Jay Fletcher, Greg Phayre and Heather Tredway. Catching fly balls were Heather Harris and Michael Phoenix who also hit 4 for 4. Travis Howell hit a nice triple and went 3 for 3. Trevor MacSween and Jeremy Gibson played a great infield defensive game along with get- ting 4 for 4 at bat. On Tuesday May 31, Lifestyle 2000 - Greenbank team defeated Norton Home Improvements 26-13. Travis Howell did a great job covering the pitcher area while Travis MacSween made a couple of good plays on 3rd. Both boys hit 3 for 3. Aaron Stiller and Blair Howell hit 3 for 3. Three players who have got on base every time since the season started and all got 4 for 4 this game are Graeme Powell, Jay Fletcher and Greg Phayre. Great hitting boys. A long hot evening A very hot May 30 evening presented a long & hot ball game with Rent. &. ~Save emerging victorious. + Kevin Duncan & Todd Peters provided excellent offence with 6 runs between them. Cheri Compeau & Ian Parlia- ment kept the opposition at bay with several put outs between them. Grant Hooker & Jeffery Piersnal helped to keep Rent & Save from many more runs. Adam Jones & Alechia Cracknell provided Lucyk McPhee with aggressive batting. T-ball season starts Monday night saw the start of the T-Ball season at R.H. Cornish Field. There were two games played as Philp Pontiac took on Kinsmen and Rankin played Country Lane. In the Philp Pontiac - Kinsmen game Beau Jolicoeur, Faith Scholfield and 'Burke Thompson were some of the Philp Pontiac players who enjoyed the game as did Aaron Scallon, Jamie Britt and Kailey Baker of the Kinsmen. 'Megan Little, Kelly Corneal and D'arcy Stephens were some of the Rankin team who enjoyed the game against Jason Smith, Christopher Monsma and Mary Leanne Smith, some of the Coun- try Lane players. Ajax nips Port in soccer action On Thursday, May 26, the Homestead Furniture team had a great first game for the 1988 year. Although they lost 2-1 to Ajax, it was a close hard-fought game. Mari Farquharson scored the goal with help from Sara Brown. Megan Baxter, although in- jured, played goal valiantly and made many good saves. Lisa Dodd and Emily Cosway were terrific on defense while Kelly Phipps and Michelle Brown pro- vided excellent attacking power. Their next game will be home next Wednesday, June 1st against Pickering. Bantams dominate Scugog Bantam Soccer - Pro- vincial Traffic Signs, Thursday June 2 was the team's first game of the season and they came home with a 7-3 win over Newcastle. The game was dominated by Port Perry with the boys working as a team, showing strong kicking and passing skills.
