(From page 13) 'addressed the group with a few words and presented 3 white candles tied with dif- ferent colours for reasons 'which she explained as she lit each one in turn. The first candle in green is for our past. It is a can- dle representative of the women - who 40 years ago started a new group under © the name of W.A. under the guidance of a Student Minister's Mother. It is in thankfulness for their vision | . of the world and their ~ famiilies, that they felt a need for a spiritual, service & fellowship group, that this candle we light. ~The second candle in red is for celebration and joy for our present. It is for everyone here who has a bond thro' 40 years to the, now, '"'Head Memorial" United Church women that we joyfully light this candle. The third candle with gold is for hope & anticipation for our future. It is for those who will continue to work in the U.C.W. so that we can still be a group in devotion to Christian workshop, fellowship & service for all women or those in need. We prayerfully light our third candle to the future. The luncheon by "Grace" U.C.W. and art & craft show on Sat. by "Head" U.C.W. was later in the year than usual due to several members being away. Thus, beautiful weather to help or suggest competition along with other events, perhaps the results were a little slower than usual.
