Pallbearers were Fred Christie, Roy Dobson, Bill Lamb, Ted Lamb, Jim Smither- Interment at Pine Grove Prince Aletha Holtby passed away at dillsdale Manor on May 18, 1988, in her ninety-second year. She had been a resident there for Born near Greenbank in June, 1896 to Edward Barrett, and Melissa (Munro) Barrett, she Aletha Regina Holtby Mrs. Holtby will always be remembered by the young folks of Manchester for the homemade fudge she handed out Hallowe'en, and by her grand- children for the tea-parties with homemade bread and rolls. She is survived by stepson, Byron Holtby, of Port Perry, six seven great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by til 1983. In 1938 Albert, Oshawa. moved to Manchester in 1914 with her parents, and except for a period of 10 years lived there un- late W.W. Holtby (who predeceas- ed her in 1962) and spent the next 10 years farming at Prospect. They retired to Manchester in 1948, and for many years Aletha was very active in church and community work.
