Jason Gouldburn pitch- ed two innings for Lil Gators and struck out six batters while Brad Plain hit well during the game. - Lance Peters pitched well for Brian's Towing while Andrew Jones made several key catches in centre field. When the game was called because of a fire on the hydro pole which short circuited the lights on the North Ball Diamond, Irwin Smith was ahead of Standard Electric by the score of 14 to 9. Travis Guindon hit a grand slam home run for Irwin Smith while Darrin Hope caught a pop- up fly at second base and threw out the baserunner at first to make a double play. For Standard Electric, Cory Bricknell hit a grand slam home run in the first inning to put his team ahead by the score of 6 to 3 and struck out five batters in two innings. Kenny Mark made a good catch on a high fly ball in right field. In Seagrave, Jeremy Williams stole home to tie the game up at 10, between D.J. Taylor and Seagrave Park. Jeremy Ward made a good catch in the outfield for Seagrave: Park, to make the third out when the bases were loaded, while Jeremy Williams went 3 for 3 at the plate. For D.J. Taylor, Louis Whit- field pitched three good innings while Scott Wylie took over in the final inning and did-a fine job. Jason Eenling had a good night at the plate, hitting a double and a triple and drove in a couple of wins. Wright Sox double Swain On July 4 at Nestleton H & M Wright Sox beat Swain Seed Slug- gers with a score of 22-11. The Sluggers only had seven players to the 13 Sox. For H & M Wright Sox Allan Richmond played a ._ great game with a grand slam, a triple, a double and some ex- cellent pitching. Jim Chapman hit a triple and a double. Doubles were also hit by Kyle Buller and Trevor Marnoch. Singles were hit by Shaun Hughes, Kyle Buller, Scott Malcolm, Jason Malcolm, Aman- da Richmond, Trevor Marnoch and Pam Goble. Scott Malcolm ' made an outstanding catch when he caught a line drive at short- stop. The pitching was shared by Trevor Marnoch, Shaun Hughes and Jason Malcolm. The whole team-showed a great effort with fabulous fielding and excellent batting. For Swain Seed Sluggers, Ben Stephenson made a sure, solid hit for a single. Julie Williams made a great effort, hit a single and scored a run. Andy Seeley also hit a single. Danny Lyons scored with a home run and caught a great fly while on the mound. Glen Williams snagged a fly ball at first base. On Tuesday, July 5th, at Blackstock Fairgrounds, Port Perry Kinsmen played Maltheb Farms. The Kinsmen came out on top with a final score of 29-12. Bill Duncan and Sharon Locke both hit singles while Brad Morton, Johnathon McCourt, Dustin Mar- noch, Mike Carlson and David Kemp all scored doubles. Brad Vokins hit two triples and Dustin Marnoch hit one. Jason Logan hit a total of three home runs, two of them bringing in two other runs. Brad Morton hit a grand slam while Steven Kyte and Wendy Handyside both hit home runs. Solid pitching was provided by Jason Logan and Brad Morton. Outstanding catches were made by Jason Logan at second, Brad Vokins as catcher and Brad Morton on the mound. Blackstock Lioness' and Super Spud met at Nestleton on July 5th. The Lioness' were victorious with a score of 15-11. Adam Wonnacott hit a single, a double and a triple while Kingsley Malcolm and Jeremy Michel hit a single and a double each. Tom Waters hit a single and a triple and Jeffrey Balser hit a triple. Two singles were hit by both Lloyd Shaddock and Melissa Moore. Katherine Ellis hit a single and was also responsible for a double play when she caught a flyball and then threw it to Jason Lyons for another out. Turners Green Giants and Causeway Esso battled it out toa 12-12 tie on Wednesday, July 6th at Nestleton. This was a really ex- citing game, during which the score changed every inning. Scott Page scored a home run and hit a great triple. Kendall Chorostecki also got a home run and had a single and some great pitching to his credit. Kevin Ellis 'made an outstanding catch and hit a single. Jeff Kemp played well on the mound and hit a single. : Singles were also hit by Bristol Sleep, Lori Connel, Scott Barr, Josh Wilson, Kyle Russell and Dana Lee. Mites Monday night's game between Lucyk McPhee Construction and Emmersons Insurance resulted in L.M.C. emerging victorious. The lead score see-sawed bet- ween the teams every inning, however, with fine defense by Scott Harper, Adam Sinclair, and Scott Jeffrey, L.M.C. were able to hold the lead in the last inning. Rosemarie Sax and Adam Jones both had some great hits. Greg's slide finished off a home run. Eight teams took part In the annual Pee Wee softball torunament for house league teams held at the Seagrave Park Friday evening and Satur- day. Rob Kearns and Brian McTaggart did much of the organizing and handed out medallions to the winning teams. In the A final, Irwin Smith defeated Lil Gators 10-4, while In the B final Oshawa Kingside took Stan- dard Electric 13-5. Reps from these teams are Andrew Pereman for Irown Smith; James Goulburn for Lil Gators; Mike Sluggett for Standard Electric and James Dejournette for Oshawa Kingside.
