Most of my news was gathered at the community picnic at Cameron Lake where over sixty of us gathered for sports, fun and food. Thanks to Don Simmons and Norm Tapscott for giving boat rides, and letting the children water ski. The supper was bountiful and delicious. After supper there were several contests. Hurrah for Ann Tapscott for winning the bubble gum contest, then the chocolate pudding contest was won by Cathy Stevenson and company. Walt Kerry won the button con- test. Two beautiful birthday cakes made their appearance, and all sang Happy Birthday to Donna Kerry and Tanya Wilson after they had blown out the candles. Best Wishes from all of us. Thanks to the Tapscotts, Sim- monds, Taylors and Mrs. Jones for arranging the afternoon. Especially the perfect weather. We also had a chance to meet our new neighbours Marydale and Maurice Tapscott. Several from the community at- tended a shower at the home of Sandy Wagner in honour of this month's bride to be Anita Jagerma. On Sat. evening the Senior Choir met at the home of Paul and Shirley Baster for a barbecue. The party was to let Donna Van Veghel know how very much the choir has appreciated her work with them. Thanks once more Donna. The rest of us enjoyed your lovely music too. Several from the community at- tended the Ont. County Twilight Meeting on Fri. at the Les Smith farm near Sunderland. Most of the Ashton family were able to attend the picnic on Sat. at Ken and Beth Catherwoods cot- tage on Balsam Lake.
