Obituary Olive Lillian Heaslip Olive Lillian Heaslip passed away at the Port Perry Communi- ty Hospital on March 26, 1988. Olive was the daughter of the late John Irvine and Mary Ida (Roddy) Irvine, and was born at the family homestead on the 14 concession of Manvers Township in 1901, a sister Ruby McKeown and a brother Melville Irvine predeceased her. In 1924, Olive married Robert Stewart Bruce Heaslip from Janetville Station (View Lake). They farmed at the farm where Bruce was born until 1951 when they built their home in Nestleton. olive was a school teacher prior to her marriage and she return- ed to her profession after leaving the farm and taught for a number of years at Cartwright Public School. When Olive's husband Bruce became ill she devoted her time to caring for his needs until he passed away in 1984. During the years when Bruce was confined to the nursing home. Olive sold their beloved home in Nestleton and moved to an apartment in Port Perry so that she could be closer to him. Olive touched the hearts of everyone who was priviledged to know her, she was witty, clever, dedicated and compassionate. Olive was a life member of the Nestleton Women's Institute and also a member of the Nestleton United Church. Although Olive and Bruce had no children, they had many neices and nephews that they admired and proudly displayed their pic- tures around their home. A funeral service was held at the Scugog Memorial Chapel, Port Perry on March 29th, 1988. Interment was at the family plot at Riverside cemetary, Lindsay, Ontario. ANNOUNCEMENT Jim & Carol Adams with Fred & Carol Cockerton are pleased to announce the forthcoming marriage of their children Jeff & Maureen on August 13th, 1988 at 4:00 PM in the Port Perry United Church. at the summer cottage of Marion and Lloyd Lee in Orillia. Mr. and Mrs. Doug Wilson and children attended. Several Epsom friends®enjoyed "The Conteninal Singers" at the Baptist Church, Uxbridge on Fri. evening. On Sun. morning several from Epsom attended Trinity United Church to enjoy the message brought by the Rev. John Tapscott of Orangedale, Nova Scotia. The Epsom Service was also very interesting. Our guest speaker was Miss Olive Schell, of Dallas, Texas. Miss Schell taught school in Goodwood in 1929. She told of her Mission in Peru and in Africa (Camaroons). She works in the language field translating the Bible to the language of the native people where she was stationed. Church at Utica next Sun, 11:15. Over the weekend Archie and Jennie Watson entertained her brother Mr. A. Cudtia of Rich- mond Hill and also had a surprise visit from their son Andrew, his wife and family of Guelph. Marie and Earl Wilson have way home. mmer school been busy entertaining relatives. Guests were: Mr. and Mrs. Grant Elfurd and boys, of Regina, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Elford of Sand- ford, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Thax- ter of Beaverton. While visiting with Marie and Earl. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Elford celebrated their 40th Wedding Anniversary. Rev. Richard and Mr. Luchuk, Simon and Leah of Stoney Creek were holidaying with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Earl Wilson. While on holiday, Joyce and Leah stayed a week at Crusaders Camp at Omemee. The Baster family were visited Sun. by Kathy and Jeff Potter, Uxbridge, Roy, Nancy, Jessica and Leslie Menagh of Prince Ed- ward Island, also Keith, Mary and David McCallum of London. Overnight guests with Norine and Alan Card were Bob and Kay Osler of Fenelon Falls. Another community picnic. This time the Boodways and the Branch Directors of Bethesda Reach W.I., will be our hosts. Everyone is invited to come Aug. 7, noon, pot luck lunch.
