BEST AVAILABLE COPY 123rd Blackstock Fair Blackstock and Area News by Joyce Kelly President Rolly Coy and his hard working directors are busily preparing for the 123rd Blackstock air, "where all the action ha pens in the same day" which will be held on Saturday August 27th, this year. At 9:30 a.m. buildings open so that visitors may enjoy touring the exhibits hall and arena which will have the vegetable and grain displays as well as a wide variety of concession booths. Horseshoe pitching and 4-H Achievement Days will commence at 10:30 a.m. At 11 a.m. the colourful parade will arrive, led by the DS Ethnic Band. Entertainer Dale Page will also be in the parade, entertaining as he travels. Throughout the day many cvents will be taking place such Memorial Decoration as the annual Media Milking Contest, and the Farm Olympics, organized by the Durham East Junior Farmers. On Sunday morning Blackstock and Nestleton United Church con- gregations held a joint service at the Blackstock Church with a ca- pacity congregation. During the service a new stained glass win- dow entitled "Unto Us A Saviour Is Born" in memory of W.A. and Margaret VanCamp was dedicated. This beautiful window, which continues the story of Jesus's life, had been donated by the family. The executive of the Ontario South District Women's Institute and representatives met at the home of Mrs. Don McKean last Monday to finalize their plans for the Women's Institute display at the Port Perry Fair. Their display is to publicize the work and aims of the Women's Institute. Don't forget the W.I. meeting _ this Wednesday at the home of - Mrs. Earle. Come and bring a friend and a lawn chair.
